The Bacolod City’s Civil Registrar’s Office is being questioned by the Philippine Statistics Authority for the issuance of a birth certificate to a Chinese national in 2019.
On Wednesday, representatives from the PSA went to the Civil Registrar’s Office to investigate how the Chinese national acquired a birth certificate from them.
Civil Registrar Hermilo Pauyon said on Friday, April 26, that they already presented the documents that PSA needs for their inquest.
He clarified that a foreigner can have a birth certificate issued in the country for as long as the person was born in the Philippines.*
