PRO NIR honors 8 police stations, units for outstanding performance

The Police Regional Office–Negros Island Region (PRO NIR) recognized eight police units and stations across Negros Island for their performance during the flag-raising ceremony at Camp Alfredo M. Montelibano Sr. in Brgy. Estefania, Bacolod City, on Monday, Aug. 18.

PBGen. Arnold Thomas C. Ibay, PRO NIR director, led the awarding rites with members of the Regional Staff, honoring city and municipal police stations, mobile force companies, and individual personnel.

Among the awardees were the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office, named Best Police Provincial Office; the Bacolod City Police Office as Best City Police Office; and the Bayawan City Police Station and La Castellana Municipal Police Station, which took the top spots in the Best Component City Police Station and Best Municipal Police Station categories, respectively.

The 2nd Negros Occidental Provincial Mobile Force Company was awarded Best Provincial Mobile Force Company, while the Bacolod City Mobile Force Company earned the title Best City Mobile Force Company.

Police Chirf Master Sergeants Rene Costas and Nobel Marcasote, were also awarded the Medalya ng Papuri for their swift response under the police’s 5-minute response policy.

Two officers from the Silay City Component Police Station were also commended for resolving a theft case within just four seconds, a record response time under the Chief PNP’s national directive.*
