Price freeze monitoring set in La Castellana, Canlaon 

A price freeze is set in La Castellana, Negros Occidental, and Canlaon City, Negros Oriental, that have declared a state of calamity following the eruption of Kanlaon Volcano. 

The Department of Energy in an advisory said a price freeze   on household liquefied petroleum gas in cylinders and kerosene products   is now in effect in La Castellana and Canlaon.  

The Department of Trade and Industry will also conduct intensified price monitoring of basic commodities in La Castellana, Lynna Joy Cardinal, Negros Occidental DTI provincial head, said Thursday, June 6.

The  freeze will last for 60 days  and so far the prices of basic necessities like sardines, noodles and milk are stable, she added.*
