Police seize P540K in shabu, nab former detainee, school staff

More than P540,000 worth of suspected shabu was seized in two separate buy-bust operations in Bacolod City that led to the arrest of a former drug offender and a school administrative staff, the police reported on Wednesday, July 23.

Alias “Jepay,” 30, a resident of Purok Kabugwason, Brgy. Mansilingan, was arrested in a buy-bust operation conducted by Police Station 7 and the Regional Intelligence Unit–Negros Island Region at around 1:18 p.m. on Tuesday.

Jepay, who previously availed of a plea bargaining agreement for a drug-related case, was again arrested for alleged violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

Police recovered about 30 grams of suspected shabu with a street value of P204,000, one sachet used as the buy-bust item, seven other sachets in her possession, a pink coin pouch, buy-bust money amounting to P500, and P450 in cash.

Less than 13 hours later, another buy-bust operation led to the arrest of alias “Cha,” 34, a school admin staff and resident of Purok Masinulondon, Brgy. Punta Taytay.

Operatives of the City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU) of Bacolod City Police Office arrested her at around 2:06 a.m. Wednesday after she allegedly sold a sachet of suspected shabu to a poseur buyer.

Recovered from her were one sachet of suspected shabu used in the transaction and 10 more sachets found in her possession.

The confiscated drugs weighed around 50 grams with a standard drug price of P340,000.

Police also recovered the P1,000 buy-bust money and other non-drug items.

Both suspects are now detained and will be facing charges for violation of the anti-drug law.*
