The Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) assured that sufficient policemen and force multipliers will be deployed along Lacson Street and the North Capitol Road starting Tuesday, Jan. 28, for the celebration of the Bacolaodiat Festival.

They are “fully-geared up” to ensure a safe and vibrant conduct of the Bacolaodiat Festival  from Jan. 31 to Feb. 2 to usher in the Chinese New Year, the BCPO said in a press statement.

The North Capitol Road was closed starting Sunday for the setting up of a stage and tents, and Lacson Street from 5th to 13th Street will be closed starting Tuesday until February 3 for the festival.

These closures aim to provide a secure and enjoyable environment for festival-goers as the streets transform into places of cultural performances, food fairs, and other festivities, the Bacoloaodiat Festival organizers said.

“A sufficient number of PNP personnel and force multipliers will be deployed to key areas to strengthen crime prevention efforts, enhance police visibility, and provide assistance to residents and visitors”, the BCPO said.

The police have also coordinated with the Bacolod Traffic Authority to implement a traffic management plan.*
