A 19-year-old laborer tagged as the fifth most wanted person in Western Visayas for alleged rape and violation of the Anti-Photo and Video Voyeurism Act was arrested in Zone 2, Brgy. Bulad, Isabela, Negros Occidental, on Thursday, February 1.
John Carl Tiburon, 19, a laborer from Zone 2, was arrested by the Police Intelligence Unit of the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office by virtue of a warrant of arrest at about 12:27 a.m Wednesday.
He was tagged as the Top 5 Regional Most Wanted Person, Provincial Top 9 Most Wanted Person, and Municipal Top 7 Most Wanted Person, the police said.
The warrant was issued by Judge Cyclamen Jison Fernandez of the Regional Trial Court in La Carlota City, Negros Occidental, on January 23 with no bail recommended for the rape case.
Bail recommended for violation of sections 4-A and 4-D of Republic Act 9995 or the Anti-Photo and Video Voyeurism Act of 2009 was set at P21,000 for each section.
The suspect is now detained at the Isabela Police Station.
BGen. Sidney Villaflor, Western Visayas police regional director, commended the swift and efficient action of the Isabela Police Station and its supporting units in apprehending the suspect.
The operation was also joined by operatives from the Regional Intelligence Unit, 3rd Mobile Platoon, 2nd Negros Occidental Provincial Mobile Force Company, and 601st Company of the Regional Mobile Force Battalion.
