A 14-year-old boy on Tuesday, Nov. 26, admitted killing his 8-year-old nephew who was found dead in a sugarcane field in Sitio Omot, Brgy. Santol, Binalbagan, Negros Occidental, the police said.
Maj. Jun Ray Batadlan, Binalbagan Police Chief, said that they invited the 14-year-old boy and other relatives to the police station as they were seen with the victim before he disappeared.
The victim was last seen alive on Nov. 19 and was found dead in a sugarcane field on Nov. 23.
Batadlan said that the 14-year-old boy claimed that he hacked the victim causing his death but did not say why he committed the crime.
The suspect is now under the custody of the Social Welfare Office of Binalbagan.*
