Mayor Alfredo Abelardo Benitez said families barred from living inside the Bacolod City North Cemetery may be included in the Yuhum Housing Program.

The Bacolod City Legal Office Enforcement Team last week dismantled illegally built houses within the cemetery and evicted person who had turned mausoleums for the dead into their homes.

Benitez said the Yuhum Housing Program is designed for informal settlers of the city, so all those without homes can avail of it.

Meanwhile, the Bacolod police and traffic enforcers are ready for the celebration of All Saints’ Day on November 1 and All Souls’ Day on November 2 in Bacolod City to ensure that the holidays stay peaceful, Benitez said.*
