
A 51-year-old man died after he fell from a moving motorcycle in Hinoba-an, Negros Occidental, on Monday afternoon, Aug. 17.
Hinoba-an police identified the victim only as “Richard,” a resident of Brgy. Binicuil, Kabankalan City.
Police said he was riding a black Bajaj motorcycle with his 52-year-old wife identified only as “Sharon,” while “Alvin,” 39, was driving.
Investigation showed that the group was traveling south from Hinoba-an proper at around 2 p.m. when Richard, who was seated behind the driver, suddenly fell from the motorcycle in Purok 1, Brgy. Asia.
He landed face down on the road and sustained injuries to different parts of his body.
The driver returned to the area after noticing that the victim had fallen and sought help from nearby residents, who called rescuers.
Richard was brought to the Hinoba-an District Hospital but was declared dead by the attending physician.
The driver and the victim’s wife were unharmed, police said.
The motorcycle and its driver are under the custody of the Hinoba-an Municipal Police Station for proper disposition.
Police said investigators are still determining what caused the victim to fall from the motorcycle.*
