Panaad fest launch March 8

Negros Occidental will launch its annual Panaad sa Negros Festival on March 8, Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson said Monday, February 12.

Preparations for the festival to be held April 15 to 21 at the Panaad Park and Stadium in Barangay Mansilingan, Bacolod City, are underway, he said.

A Panaad sa Negros Festival music video is being made that will include all the chief executives of Negros Occidental, Lacson said. The same music from last year will be used but with new video support, he said.

The provincial government subsidy to local governments joining the festival will be increased from P300,000 to P350,000 each.

Some LGUs are repairing and improving their pavilions at the Panaad Park, he said.

Provincial Tourism Officer Cheryl Decena will remain as the festival executive director.*
