131 join vice guv’s billiard tournament

A total of 131 billiard players from all over the country joined the 1st Vice Governor Jeffrey Ferrer 10-ball Billiards Tournament that kicked off at the SM City Bacolod events center on Monday February 12.

A total of P1 million in prizes are at stake for the five-day event, with the winner receiving P400,000 , Ferrer said.

The second runner-up will win P150,000, and the third and 4th runners-up will receive P75,000 each.

Those in 5th to 8th place will get P35,000 each, while those in 9th to 16th place will receive P20,000 each.

The registration fee is P3,000 for each participant.

The tournament is being held to give local billiards players a venue where they can pit their skills against top players from other areas in the country, Ferrer said.

Among the top billiards players who have registered to join are Johann Chua, Jeffrey Ignacio, Rodrigo Geronimo, Michael Feliciano, Anton Raga, Jundel Mazon, AJ Manas, Jerico Bañares, Jonas Magpantay and James Aranas.

The tournament is still open for walk-in participants until Tuesday, February 13, Ferrer said.*
