‘Pagtilipon-Tipon’ opens Friday

Art exhibition “Pagtilipon-Tipon” of about 46 artists and initiated by seven artist initiatives will open at the Orange Project in the Art District, Bacolod City, on Friday, Sept. 13.

Pagtilipon-Tipon is a project by seven artist-run initiatives that have helped promising young artist and have emerged from the need to articulate a practice away or in-between already existing structures of art, a press release said.

These initiatives were Linangan Artist Residency headed by Manny Garibay, Tungtung Alon headed by Mark Justiniani, Agos Studio headed by Renato Habulan, Project Space Pilipinas headed by Leslie de Chavez, Eskinita Art headed by Alfredo Esquillo, and Pasilyo Press headed by Elmer Borlongan and of course, Orange Project headed by Charlie Co.

The exhibition opening will feature a performance from Hayuma Performing Arts Studio which is a testament that the gathering transcends beyond frameless heads on nameless walls, Orange Project said.

The almost two months exhibition will also feature various workshops including “Printmaking as Community Engagement” with Elmer Borlongan, Plet Bolipata, Pasilyo Press, and Eskinita Art Farm, and “Art Ecosystem: An Aritst’s Role, Principled Lifestyle, and Career Navigation” with Renato Habulan and Agos Studio; and “Terracota as Community Engagement” with Charlie Co, Joe Geraldo, Orange Project, Linangan Art Residency, and Project Space Philippines.*
