Authorities arrested a 35-year-old man and seized P7.14 million worth of suspected shabu during a buy-bust operation in Sibulan, Negros Oriental, on Wednesday morning, July 1.
The suspect was identified as alias “Noknok,” a resident of Tamparan, Lanao del Sur.
The operation was conducted in Magatas, Sibulan, by personnel of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency and the Philippine National Police.
The suspect allegedly told authorities that he had only been instructed to transport the illegal drugs to Bacolod City.
He also claimed that he arrived in Dumaguete City on Tuesday.
Authorities are investigating the source and intended recipients of the seized drugs.
The suspect is under police custody while the appropriate complaint for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, is being prepared.*
