
More than P7.5 million worth of suspected shabu was confiscated in separate anti-drug operations in Negros Oriental and Bacolod City on Aug. 27 and 28, authorities reported.
In Bacong, Negros Oriental, the Police Regional Office–Negros Island Region (PRO-NIR) seized about one kilo of suspected shabu valued at P6.8 million during a buy-bust operation in Brgy. Sulodpan on Wednesday, Aug. 27.
Arrested was Anthony “Anthony Torres,” 42, of Dumaguete City, described by police as a high-value individual previously arrested twice for drug-related cases.
The operation also yielded multiple sachets of shabu, a mobile phone, a motorcycle, and marked buy-bust money.
Police said the arrest dealt a major blow to drug syndicates operating in the region.
Meanwhile, in Bacolod City, police seized about 105 grams of suspected shabu worth P714,000 in a buy-bust in Brgy. 2 on Aug. 28.
Arrested were two suspects identified as alias “Irene” and alias “Roy”, both residents of the barangay.
The suspects are facing charges for violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act.*
