The statement of Pederalismo ng Dugong Dakilang Samahan (PDDS) secretary general Glen Badon that they are negotiating with the Yanson family to support the gubernatorial bid of John Orola only confirms what they already knew, Negros Occidental Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson said Thursday, April 21.
Badon, at a press conference in Bacolod City on April 18, said they were talking with the Yanson matriarch Olivia Yanson.
Orola is running under the PDDS party for governor of Negros Occidental against Lacson.
“Talks with the Yansons somehow confirms that branch of the Yansons is supporting Atty. Orola. That’s something that we already knew even before, I’m just wondering why it was denied but now it is the secretary general of that party who manifested that,” Lacson said.
Orola has said he has not asked for the endorsement and support of the Yanson family, it is up to them to decide.
Badon, at the same press conference, also said President Rodrigo Duterte is supporting the gubernatorial bid of Orola.
“As to the endorsement of the president I guess it makes Atty. Orola very happy, but the elections will go on and in two weeks we will know what the results will be,” Lacson said.*
