NOCPPO seizes P1M in shabu, arrests 57 in weeklong operations

The Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office seized more than P1 million worth of suspected shabu and arrested 57 individuals in various operations from May 11 to 17.

Based on its weekly accomplishment report, NOCPPO conducted 16 anti-illegal drug operations that led to the arrest of 16 persons.

Police confiscated about 154.3 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated standard drug price of P1,049,240.

NOCPPO also intensified its campaign against wanted persons, arresting five most wanted persons and 36 other wanted persons in separate manhunt operations.

In the campaign against illegal gambling, police conducted 11 operations that resulted in the arrest of 30 persons and the confiscation of P5,511 in bet money.

Police also conducted four operations against loose firearms, resulting in the arrest of four persons and the confiscation of five firearms.

Five firearms were also deposited or surrendered during the same period.

Meanwhile, seven illegal fishing operations led to the arrest of 26 individuals and the confiscation of fish and fishing paraphernalia worth P244,000.

Of the amount, P18,000 represented the estimated worth of fish, while P226,000 represented the estimated value of fishing paraphernalia.*
