MPadilla waives fees for 236 households under Sitio Electrification Program

The local government of Moises Padilla has waived all local fees for 236 households set to benefit from the government’s Sitio Electrification Program (SEP).

Mayor Ella Celestina Garcia-Yulo announced that beneficiaries from Barangays Macagahay, Crossing Magallon, Odiong, and Quintin Remo will no longer pay fees for electrical inspection, zoning clearance, and barangay clearance for their electricity connections.

The announcement was made during an orientation conducted by Negros Occidental Electric Cooperative (NOCECO) at the Municipal Auditorium Monday, May 18, a press release from Moises Padlilla said.

The mayor thanked the Sangguniang Bayan, led by Vice Mayor Felix Mathias Segundo Yulo III, for approving the resolution granting free local services to the beneficiaries.

Garcia-Yulo said she pushed for the inclusion of Moises Padilla in the Sitio Electrification Program through the Office of the Vice President in previous years and expressed gratitude after the project was approved by the National Electrification Administration (NEA).

Vice Mayor Yulo and members of the municipal council also expressed support for the initiative, noting that access to electricity will greatly benefit residents in remote sitios and improve their quality of life, the press release said.

The Sitio Electrification Program is a nationwide initiative aimed at achieving 100 percent electrification across the country. Through the NEA and electric cooperatives such as NOCECO, electricity lines are extended to remote and underserved communities still without power access.*
