There have been no crime incidents in all MassKara sites in Bacolod City in the first seven days of the festival, the Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) reported on Wednesday, Oct. 8.
Extensive security measures were conducted across major event areas, activity zones, and crowd convergence points, a BCPO statement said.
Police visibility and coordinated deployment of personnel also helped maintain order throughout the duration of the festival, the BCPO said.
Authorities said this accomplishment was made possible through the close coordination of the MassKara Festival Task Group, other law enforcement agencies, the local government unit, and private stakeholders working together under a unified command system.
“Our record during the weeklong MassKara Festival reflects the discipline of our personnel and the active support of Bacolodnons and visitors who celebrated responsibly,” BCPO Director Col. Joeresty Coronica said.*
