NIR boost to 5th District roads to Oriental: Yulo

Rep. Emilio Yulo III  (Neg. Occ., 5th  District)*

If President Ferdinand  Marcos Jr. signs the Negros Island Region  bill into law it would open up   new roads from the  5th District   of Negros Occidental to Negros Oriental,  Rep. Emilio Yulo III  (Neg. Occ., 5th  District) said on  Friday,  March 15.

The Senate approved the bill creating the Negros Island Region composed of Negros Occidental, Negros Oriental and Siquijor on   Tuesday, March 12.

After going through the bicameral conference committee the measure will be submitted to the president to be signed into law.

This is good news for the people of the 5th District of Negros Occidental because it will open up road networks with Negros Oriental that would create economic activity, hasten   development and boost peace and   order, Yulo said.

Yulo said there are two existing road networks – the La Castellana to Canlaon City route, and the road from Sikatuna in Isabela to Luz in Guihulngan City that just needs a little more improvement.

The construction of the Himamaylan City-Tayasan road in ongoing, and a one and a half kilometer road from Macagahay in Isabela to Trinidad in Guihulngan City  is also being developed, Yulo said.

A road from Amontay, Binalbagan, to Negros Oriental that would create  a new frontier is also being eyed, he added.*
