NIR advantageous to 5th District, it will bring progress, peace – Yulo

Rep. Emilio “Dino” Yulo III (Neg. Occ., 5th District)*

The Negros Island Region will be very advantageous to the 5th District of Negros Occidental because  five of its six local government units will have roads that  interconnect with Negros Oriental, Rep. Emilio “Dino” Yulo III (Neg. Occ., 5th District) said Saturday, May 18.

Yulo, one of the co-authors of the NIR Bill in the Lower House, said he hopes President Ferdinand Marcos signs the NIR bill into law before the State of Nation Address.

The NIR will be composed of Negros Occidental, Negros Oriental and Siquijor.

He said the  5th District  portals to Negros Oriental are the   traditional La Castellana-Canlaon City road, Isabela-Luz Sikatuna road leading to Guihulngan City and the one from   Himamaylan City to Tayasan town.

Yulo said he is also opening  new roads in Brgy. Macagahay in Moises Padilla to Brgy. Trinidad in Guihulngan City and another in Sitio Amontay in Binalbagan to La Libertad.

“All LGUs in the 5th district except for Hinigaran will have roads leading to Negros Oriental,”  he said.

“With roads there is development, with development there is progress and with progress it will buy us peace. There is nothing more important than the politics of the stomach. If there is a good life in the mountain areas they will not demand anything from the government, ” he  said.*
