A youth space for climate action and environmental advocacy has opened its doors to the youth of Negros through the Climate and Environmental Justice (CEJ) Youth Hub that was launched in Brgy. 5, Bacolod City, Saturday, Jan. 11.
The hub was launched by the Negrosanon Initiative for Climate and the Environment (NICE).
The hub aims to empower young leaders to take on the pressing challenges of climate change and environmental justice, a NICE press release said.
The CEJ Youth Hub provides a collaborative space where youth leaders and civil society organizations (CSOs) develop and implement impactful environmental initiatives, it said.
“We believe that the youth of Negros play a crucial role in addressing climate change and environmental degradation,” NICE Secretary General Joshua Villalobos said.
The core focus of the hub is climate justice, with particular attention to communities most affected by climate change, he said.
The hub offers access to a wide range of resources, including research studies, publications, and materials from non-governmental organizations and academic institutions, the press release said.
The hub also functions as a research center, providing students, professionals, and advocates a space to conduct research, exchange ideas, and collaborate on projects, it added.*
