The construction of a new Police Station 8 facility in Bacolod City formally began following a groundbreaking ceremony in Brgy. Taculing on Oct. 3.
The Police Regional Office-Negros Island Region said the project is intended to strengthen police operations, improve facilities and make frontline public safety services more accessible to residents.
The ceremony was led by PRO-NIR director Brig. Gen. Rudecindo Reales, Bacolod City Police Office director Col. Eugene Rebadomia and Police Station 8 officer-in-charge Capt. Patrick Pol Lacandula.
Bacolod Mayor Greg Gasataya, Lt. Col. Romeo Mallari, deputy chief of the Regional Logistics and Research Development Division, Lt. Col. Lyndon Maetre, officer-in-charge of Regional Engineering Unit 6, and other BCPO personnel also attended.
PRO-NIR said the new facility is expected to provide a more conducive working environment for police personnel and a more accessible venue for residents seeking assistance.
The project forms part of continuing efforts by the regional police and the Bacolod City government to improve police infrastructure and frontline services.
Reales said the value of the project would ultimately be measured by the quality of service delivered to the public.
“A strong police station is not measured only by the quality of its building, but by the quality of service delivered within its walls,” he said.
He also called on personnel who will be assigned to the new station to uphold professionalism, integrity and responsiveness to the needs of the community.
PRO-NIR said the facility is expected to support police operations and strengthen coordination between law enforcement and residents once completed.*
