Sales at the ongoing 36th Negros Trade Fair (NTF) at Glorietta 2 in Makati City hit P14.1 million on day two, MaryAnn Colmenares, Association of Negros Producers (ANP) vice president for advocacy, said on Thursday, September 22.

The NTF sales on Tuesday hit P9.08 million and on Wednesday it was P5.1 million, she said.

They are hoping their sales this year would be higher than in 2019, except that they don’t know how much stocks the participating producers brought, she said.

The ANP trade fair, which runs until Sunday, returned to Makati this month after a two-year hiatus caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Colmenares said among the visitors to the NTF on Thursday were Senator Cynthia Villar and Rep. Christopher De Venecia who brought a group from Pangasinan,

“He wants to develop the entrepreneurial spirit in Pangasinan. It is nice that they are using the NTF as the benchmark for aspiring entrepreneurs,” she said.

Negros Occidental Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson said he is hoping the sales at the NTF can be sustained.

The governor said he is also happy to note that Negros Oriental has joined the NTF again.*
