Negros Power successfully completed scheduled preventive maintenance at its Mt. View Substation in Brgy. Mandalagan, on Sunday, April 13.
The maintenance, which involved replacing over 100 insulators and addressing critical hotspot repairs, ensured the substation’s optimal condition and minimized the risk of unexpected outages, a press release from the firm said.
The maintenance activity, which began at 6 a.m. and concluded by noon, required a temporary power interruption in areas connected to the substation, it said.
Despite the inconvenience, residents appreciated the company’s proactive approach to maintaining a reliable power supply, the press release said.
“I understand the inconvenience of a temporary power interruption, and seeing how committed the team was – even under the scorching sun -makes me more confident in the company’s direction to improve the service and make our electricity reliable,” consumer Maria Lopez said.
Engineer Andy Besana, who supervised the operation, said the activity is part of Negros Power’s ongoing 5-Year Modernization and Rehabilitation Program.
“Our goal is to ensure that our facilities are in optimal condition, minimizing unexpected outages and continuously improving the quality of service for our consumers,” Besana said.
The company assures its consumers that continuous upgrades and preventive actions will be implemented throughout the coming years to ensure a consistent and safe power supply, the press release said.*
