The Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (NOCPPO) director signed a memorandum of understanding with the executives of Bacolod Queen of Mercy Hospital (BQMH) to provide health service even without deposit, at rites at Camp Alfredo Montelibano Sr. in Bacolod City, today, February 1.
Signing for NOCPPO was Col. Romy Palgue, its director, while Dr. Evangeline Johnson, chairman of BQMH, Omar Montejo, chief operating officer and administrator, and Capt. Lucho Giovanni Giron, chief executive officer and president, represented the hospital.
Under the agreement, active members of NOCPPO and their dependents as well as retirees can be admitted to the hospital without paying an initial deposit.
They are also entitled to a 10 percent discount if admitted, while a 15 percent discount will be given for outpatient cases, the agreement said. For retired members, especially senior citizens, a 23 percent discount will be granted, it added.
To avail of the benefits, they only have to present their Philippine National Police identification card and Letter of Authority from NOCPPO signed by the provincial director.
Johnson, in her message, said the initiative is a good example of public–private partnership.
“On behalf of BQMH, I would like to extend my appreciation for trusting us with this MOU between the Negros provincial police and BQMH. I thank God for this opportunity again to be of service to your organization and we feel honored that you have welcomed us like family,” she told the policemen.
“We now look forward to years of partnership with you in preserving the health, and maintaining the safety of the community we both serve,” she added.
Palgue expressed his gratitude for the goodwill and partnership offered by the institution to the provincial police force.*
