The Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (NOCPPO) reported that the New Year celebration in the province was “generally peaceful” with a lower crime rate compared to last year and no stray bullet cases.
The crime incidents from Dec. 31, 2023, to Jan. 1, 2024, dropped by 25 percent or three cases, fewer than the previous year, the NOCPPO reported.
The cases recorded this year fell under the homicide category.*
