The Negros Island Region (NIR) Center for Health Development has reported a total of 2,546 dengue cases spanning January 1 to August 1.
This reflects a significant 58 percent decrease compared to the same period in 2025, which saw 6,057 reported cases.
Children aged 6–10 recorded the highest number of infections with 460 cases (18.1 percent) , followed by ages 1–5 with 381 cases (15 percent), and young adults aged 21–30 with 370 cases (14.5 percent).
The elderly and adults aged 31–40 reported the fewest cases.
Males represented the majority of infections at 1,364 cases (54 percent), while females accounted for 1,182 cases (46 percent).
