Negros has 3rd highest dengue cases in WV

Negros Occidental had the third most number of dengue cases in Western Visayas from January 1 to February 10 this year.

Negros Occidental had 117 dengue cases this year, with 14 new cases reported in the first week of February, the Department of Health (DOH)-Western Visayas reported on Friday, March 1.

Bacolod City had 23 reported dengue cases in February, it added.

Dengue cases reported in Western Visayas now total 847. This is 14 percent lower compared to the 982 cases in the same period last year, the DOH said.

Aklan province had the highest number of reported cases with 150, followed by Capiz with 133, Negros Occidental with 117, and Antique with 95.

Iloilo province also recorded one dengue death.*
