Cops nab five in 2 cities, seize P1.1M in shabu

The police arrested five Negrenses and seized suspected shabu worth P1,108,400 in two Negros Occidental cities on Thursday and Friday, February 29 and March 1.

Mary Ann Lim, 58, was arrested in a buy-bust operation in Purok Ipil-Ipil, Brgy. Mambulac, Silay City, on Friday, the police said.

They seized 163 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated street drug price of P1,108,400 from her, the police added.

Meanwhile, four individuals were arrested at a checkpoint in Brgy. Banago, Bacolod City, Thursday night.

Rostum and Eric Arranga, both from Hacienda Chona, Brgy. Lantad, Silay City, and Elwin and Wilfred Besonia, from Hacienda Gin-alayan, Brgy. Tortosa, Manapla, were arrested by the police at about 10 p.m. on Thursday.

The suspects passed by the Bacolod City Police Station 3 checkpoint but were stopped by the police because they were not wearing helmets.

They were asked for their drivers’ licenses and were caught in the act throwing sachets of suspected shabu and a glass tooter with traces of the drug.

They are now under police custody.*
