A wanted Negrense who had been in hiding for a decade was arrested for murder in Brgy. Hilamonan, Kabankalan City, Negros Occidental, Thursday Jan. 9.
Alias “Timoy”, 42, of Brgy. Tan-awan, Kabankalan, was arrested 10 years after a warrant was issued for his arrest, the police reported.
The presiding judge of Branch 61 of the Regional Trial Court, Sixth Judicial Region in Kabankalan City issued the warrant on Aug. 18, 2014 with no bail recommended.
BGen. Jack Wanky, Police Regional Office-6 Director, said that the arrest of this fugitive signifies the police commitment to pursuing the remaining wanted persons in the region.
“May this operation serve as a stern warning to the remaining wanted (persons) to surrender and face the charges against them because soonest the long arms of the law will still catch them”, Wanky said.
The accused is currently in police custody pending his turn over to the court.*
