The director of Negros Oriental Police Provincial Office directed his men to thoroughly investigate the killing of a policeman in Mabinay on Monday, February 1.
Col. Bryant Demot, provincial police director, said today, February 3, that he was saddened by the death of MSgt. Jesedem Carriaga, 54, of the Mabinay Police Station and a resident of Brgy. Interior Cabugan, Bindoy.
Carriaga was about to leave the house of a councilman in Barangay Lumbangan when he was gunned down by two motorcycle-riding suspects.
Demot appealed to the public who witnessed the incident to coordinate with the Mabinay Police Station to help in their investigation.
He also assured the family of the policeman that justice will be served.
Based on their initial investigation, the police said that the motive of the killing could be the victim’s trucking business.*
