The Province of Negros Occidental demonstrated its growing prowess in technology and innovation after emerging as the overall champion in the National Robotics Competition-Visayas 2026 last Saturday at the NOLITC Campus in Talisay City, capturing six victories across nine competition categories.

Leading the province’s remarkable delegation was Cabacungan National High School, which achieved back-to-back championship titles in two separate categories: Edjay Bryle Gemotra and John Dale Bangcaya in Sumobot 1KG-Autonomous, and Shantelle Kate Ballesteros and Razor Chua in Line Tracing Beginner.

Adding to the province’s dominant performance was the amazing run of Deanyvien Paculanang of Escalante National High School, who successfully maintained his championship streak, building on his victory from the 6th Battle of the Bots: Provincial Level Competition all the way to securing the national title at the NRC.

Highlighting the spirit of perseverance was the massive comeback of Jhande Marie Teodosio & Joezel M. Articona from Ramon Torres National High School in the Project Innovative Prototype category. After placing 5th in the Central District Robotics Competition and fighting their way to 3rd in the 6th Battle of the Bots: Provincial Level Competition, the team reached the pinnacle of their journey by claiming the championship spot at the national level.

The national event brought together top young robotics enthusiasts, innovators, and student builders from key regions across Visayas region, including delegations from Negros Occidental, Negros Oriental, Cebu, Davao, and Iloilo.

The National Robotics Competition 2026 was jointly organized by Pinoy Robot Games and GabiGroup Inc., in official partnership with the Provincial Government of Negros Occidental through the Negros Occidental Language and Information Technology Center (NOLITC). The collaboration highlights the province’s commitment to fostering Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) education and developing digital skills among local youth.
