A man died while a barangay kagawad and two suspects were injured in a stabbing incident at a wake in Brgy. Odiong, Moises Padilla, Negros Occidental, on Friday, June 20.
Alfredo Altea, 45, died while Brgy. Kagawad Arnel Fernandez, 46, was injured after they were stabbed by Antonio Dela Paz, 36, and his brother Leo, 31, the police said.
Altea and the suspects attended a wake in Brgy. Odiong and were drinking when a commotion erupted between him and Antonio.
The commotion led to Altea stabbing Antonio on the knee and the suspects retaliated by stabbing him back.
Fernandez, who happened to be at the wake, tried to pacify them but was also stabbed by the suspects.
Altea and Fernandez were brought to the Ignacio Arroyo Memorial District Hospital but Altea was declared dead on arrival, while the kagawad was transferred to the Riverside Hospital in Bacolod City.
The suspects were arrested by the police and were also brought to the Ignacio Arroyo Memorial District Hospital .*
