A 38-year-old motorcycle driver died while a tricycle driver was injured in a vehicular accident in Brgy. Inayawan, Cauayan, Negros Occidental, on Sunday night, March 8.
The victim was identified only as “Rommy” of Brgy. Cartagena, Sipalay City, while the injured tricycle driver was identified as “Nono,” 43, a resident of Brgy. Caliling, Cauayan.
Police investigation showed the tricycle was traveling from Barangay Inayawan toward Barangay Caliling and the motorcycle was travelling from the opposite direction from Brgy. Inayawan toward Sipalay City.
Authorities said the motorcycle allegedly counter-flowed and struck the right rear of the tricycle.
Both drivers fell on the road and sustained injuries on different parts of their bodies and were rushed to the Cauayan District Hospital.
The doctors declared the motorcycle driver dead, while the tricycle driver remains under observation.
Police said the motorcycle driver had no driver’s license and documents for the motorcycle.*
