Negrosanons are very thankful to the various national agencies, such as Department of Social Welfare and Development and National Housing Authority, for providing food packs, clothing and housing materials to those affected by typhoon “Odette”, Negros Occidental gubernatorial aspirant John Orola said Monday, January 3.
Negros Occidental LGUs, civic organizations and the victims of typhoon “Odette” should monitor the millions of pesos worth of assistance from the national agencies, he said.
“Negrosanons should be vigilant and check all the assistance extended, especially the financial assistance given by the provincial government to the typhoon victims to make sure that whatever happened to the Yolanda victims will not be repeated to the victims of typhoon Odette”, Orola said.
“It is known that the provincial government made statements in various news platforms that millions of pesos in assistance for the typhoon victims had been received from different agencies after the typhoon, but there are a lot of people who have been affected who are saying that they did not receive any at all“, Orola added.
