Microfinance employee dies, tanod injured in Kabankalan 

A microfinance employee died and a barangay tanod was injured when their motorcycles collided in Sitio Overflow, Brgy. Hilamonan, Kabankalan City, Negros Occidental, on Sunday, June 2. 

Maria Lomogda, 27, a microfinance employee, died after her motorcycle was accidentally sideswiped by the vehicle driven by Jefferson Azucena, 42, a barangay tanod, at about 5:05 p.m. on Sunday, a police report said. 

Lomogda, who was on board her motorcycle, was traveling from Pulupandan on her way to Amlan town in Negros Oriental when Azucena sideswiped her, the police added. 

Both vehicles fell on the pavement. 

Lomogda sustained a head injury and abrasions on her knees. She was declared dead at the Lorenzo Zayco District Hospital. 

Azucena sustained a head injury and abrasion on his elbow and was also brought to the same hospital. 

Their motorcycles were placed under the custody of Kabankalan City Police Station.*
