San Carlos Bishop Gerardo Alminaza urged the public on Tuesday, April 4, to stay calm and vigilant and to help those in need following the Kanlaon Volcano eruption.

Alminaza, in a pastoral  message, said we are called to respond not only to the immediate challenges but also to reflect on the deeper spiritual and moral lessons the event brings.

“I urge everyone to remain calm and vigilant. Let us not succumb to fear, but instead place our trust in God and focus on the safety and well-being of our families and communities”, he said.

Alminaza also appealed to the public for their support to provide for  the immediate needs of the affected residents.

“Calamities and tragedies call us to set aside our differences and conflicts”, he said.

“Let us help each other as brothers and sisters in Christ, offering support and building stronger, more loving communities”, he added.*
