A 50-year-old mechanic died after he was hit by another motorcycle along the Circumferential Road in front of Villa Socorro 2 Subdivision, Brgy. Taculing, Bacolod City, Thursday night, Oct. 9.
Both motorcycles were heading south from the Bacolod City Government Center toward Bangga Cory when the incident occurred, the Bacolod Traffic Enforcement Unit reported.
The victim, a resident of Brgy. Alijis, was driving a Yamaha Mio, while the suspect, who remains unidentified, was driving a Honda Airblade.
Police said the suspect allegedly miscalculated the distance and hit the victim. Both riders fell to the ground, but the Honda Airblade driver stood up and fled southward.
The victim was rushed to the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital but was declared dead.
Authorities are conducting a follow-up operation to locate and arrest the suspect, whose motorcycle bore plate number 2960NM.*
