Mayor offers P50K reward for solution to teen’s slay

Bacolod Mayor Alfredo Abelardo Benitez is offering a P50,000 reward for any information that could lead to solving the killing of a Grade 12 student who was found dead in La Carlota City last week and the arrest of the culprits.

If there is a recommendation from the police to increase the amount he will consider it, Benitez said on Tuesday, August 20.

Pearl Joy Galve, 15, a Grade 10 student at the Sum-Ag National High School in Bacolod disappeared on July 29 and was later found dead.

The mother of the victim admitted that her daughter had been molested by her live-in partner, but he can no longer be found.

It is not known if he was involved in her killing.*
