Mayor acts on ‘suplada’ employee, noisy generator, scam complaints

Mayor Alfredo Abelardo Benitez on Sunday, November 5, ordered the transfer of a Bacolod City government employee at Window No. 3 of the Civil Registrar’s Office who was reported to be unkind to a resident processing a death certificate.

Benitez ordered the transfer in response to a complaint made during his “Isugid Mo Kay Mayor” program on FMR Bacolod 91.1 on Sunday morning.

The complainant went to the Civil Registrar’s Office to process a death certificate on November 3 and said the person at Window No. 3 was “supalada” and behaved as if she was angry.

It was not the first time a complaint was lodged against the person assigned at Window No. 3, Carmela Gamboa, City Public Information Office head who co-hosted the program with the mayor, said.

Benitez stressed that Bacolod City government frontliners who deal with clients must be courteous, “we will not let this pass”.

He said the person at Window No. 3 should not be assigned to face clients, and should be replaced with someone who can properly communicate with those processing death certificates.

Those who do not know how to deal with clients should undergo retraining, he said.

Civil Registrar’s Office head Hermilo Pauyon said he would act on the mayor’s order.

TELCO GENERATOR
Residents of Barangay 16 in Bacolod also complained to the mayor about the loud and vibrating generator of a telecommunication firm in their neighborhood that has been affecting their sleep and rest.

Globe has been using a generator for about a year because of its failure to get connected to Central Negros Electric Cooperative, the complainants said.

The mayor said he is calling a meeting of Globe and CENECO representatives to address the problem.

Meanwhile, a Globe representative assured the mayor on his radio program that the generator would be turned off on Sundays, and would only run from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. on other days to enable residents to get proper sleep.

SCAMMER
A Barangay Mandalagan, Bacolod, resident also reported a person who has alleged scammed more than 50 people to the mayor.

The complainant said she was scammed of more than P900,000.

The mayor urged all of the victims of the “scammer” to go to the City Legal Office on Monday so they can be assisted in filing charges against the person.*
