MassKara, Visayas Unity Ride returns to Bacolod Oct. 15

After a two-year hiatus, the Masskara and 61st Visayas Unity Ride roars off again this Saturday, October 15, at the Upper East, Megaworld, Bacolod City, as part of the celebration of the MassKara Festival 2022.

The event is the first major organized ride with a nationwide participation after the pandemic.

Hosting Saturday’s ride is the Thunderbugs Bacolod Motorcycle Club, a Bacolod-based organization of motorcycle enthusiasts founded in 1964 and headed club president Mike Trebol.

Since 2008, Thunderbugs has been hosting this annual event, but the activity was put on hold for the last two years (2020 and 2021) due to the Covid pandemic.

“Almost 1,000 motorcycle riders from all over the country have already pre-registered for this event. This gathering of riders from all over the country will be a tremendous boost to our local tourism and will help invigorate our local economy,” said Lito Aves, Thunderbugs past president and event organizing committee chairman.

“We are inviting all motorcycle enthusiasts and the general public to come and join us. You can view a wide variety of motorcycle brands and unique kinds of motorcycles that you seldom see in our streets, and you can also examine different motorcycle products, accessories and safety gears on display at the event venue,” Aves added.*
