A man on board his bicycle was gunned down at the Bredco Port in Purok Lampirong, Barangay 2, Bacolod City, Monday night, November 8.

Killed was Aljun Rey Jarabilo, 22, who was brought to the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital, where he later expired.

He succumbed to a lone gunshot wound to the head.

Based on the police report, the victim was waylaid and shot by an unidentified suspect while he was riding his bicycle in the area.

Recovered from the crime scene were one empty fired cartridge of an unknown caliber, a BMX bicycle, a ball cap, and a P20 bill.

Police are investigating if the murder is connected to the killing of a woman in the same area last week.

PLt. Jonito Pastrana, Police Station 2 chief, said that Jarabilo knew the woman, who was gunned down by unidentified riding-in-tandem suspects in the area on November 3, but they were not close, according to his sister-in-law.

He said they will continue to further investigate the two cases, adding that a cross-matching of the recovered fired bullets is also underway.

The police will also intensify their presence in the area.*
