A man drowned in a fishpond in Sitio Punong, Brgy. Punta Mesa, Manapla, Negros Occidental, on Saturday, March 23.
The 21-year-old man, whose name was withheld by the police, was found floating in the fishpond at about 3:25 p.m. on Saturday.
An 11-year-old boy saw the victim alone at the upper portion of the fishpond when he suddenly jumped.
Minutes later he saw the victim floating in the pond and called a neighbor for help.
The victim was brought to a hospital in Manapla but was declared dead on arrival.
The victim, who was suffering from epilepsy, was identified by his father.*
