Mambukal reopening may be in April – Diaz

The Negros Occidental provincial government is aiming to reopen the Mambukal Mountain Resort and Wildlife Sanctuary in Murcia town to tourists by April in time for summer, Provincial Administrator Rayfrando Diaz said Thursday, March 3.

The resort that was used as a COVID-19 healing facility at the height of the pandemic was reopened for tourists in December.

However, it was closed again after Typhoon “Odette” hit the province for clearing of trees, the restoration of power and other repairs, he said.

Diaz said the resort was reenergized on Wednesday, March 2, that will enable the resumption of other repairs at the resort.

There is a P2.5 million streetlights project at the resort, and its dam is up for repair, he added.*
