
Two men were killed in separate shooting incidents in Negros Occidental on Wednesday, March 2.
Killed in Barangay Minoyan, Murcia, was 46-year-old Arnold Saldo, and injured was Romel Tabara, 30.
Police said the victims were having a drinking session at a birthday party of Saldo’s sister-in-law when four unidentified men arrived and opened fire.
Saldo was declared dead at the Murcia Health Unit, while Tabara was transferred to a hospital in Bacolod City.
The suspects escaped on board a white van.
Capt. Jerald Muya, Murcia police chief, said they are looking at drugs as the motive for the killing. The victim was previously arrested for drugs, he said.
In Moises Padilla, 42-year-old Jay Maykel Ledesma of Canlaon City, Negros Oriental, was gunned down by six unidentified suspects.
Police said the victim was onboard his motorcycle when he was waylaid and killed.
The motive for his killing has yet to be established.*
