The Land Transportation Office-Negros Island Region (LTO-NIR) has suspended the driver’s license of a tricycle driver found administratively liable for reckless driving in connection with a fatal road crash in Bacolod City.
LTO-NIR said the resolution was served to the respondent at his residence in Brgy. Pahanocoy on Tuesday, June 16.
The administrative case stemmed from a road incident in Brgy. Sum-ag, Bacolod City, in which a pedestrian was struck by the tricycle operated by the driver, resulting in the victim’s death.
Following its investigation, LTO-NIR found the driver liable for reckless driving and imposed a P2,000 fine.
The agency also took custody of the driver’s surrendered license, which will be suspended for 90 days.
According to LTO-NIR, the resolution and corresponding penalties were explained to the respondent during the service of the order.
The action was implemented by the agency’s Intelligence and Investigation Unit.
LTO-NIR said the administrative sanctions underscore the agency’s commitment to enforcing traffic laws and holding motorists accountable for violations that endanger public safety.
The agency added that it will continue pursuing road safety measures and investigations involving traffic incidents across the Negros Island Region.*
