LTO issues show cause order to vlogger for ‘unsafe driving’

The Land Transportation Office in Negros Island Region has issued a show cause order against a vlogger for alleged unsafe driving practices in Dumaguete City, Negros Oriental.

The case stemmed from a complaint that the individual was driving while recording vlog content and not wearing a seatbelt, the LTO NIR said.

LTO-NIR personnel initially proceeded to a reported address in a mountainous area in Tanjay City but later located the subject in Dumaguete City, where the order was served.

The agency said the acts may constitute violations of Republic Act 4136 or the Land Transportation and Traffic Code and Republic Act 8750 or the Seat Belt Use Act.

The respondent was directed to appear before the LTO-NIR regional office in Bacolod City within five days and submit a written explanation.

Authorities warned that failure to comply may result in further legal action.

LTO reiterated its call for motorists to remain focused and responsible while driving.*
