The League of Provinces of the Philippines (LPP) president wants the governors to have a voice in pinpointing their pet projects for national government funding, Negros Occidental Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson said Tuesday, October 4.

LPP national president, South Cotabato Gov. Reynaldo Tamayo, wants the funds for the provincial governments’ projects to be taken from the national executive budget, Lacson said.

This was raised at the LPP General Assembly in South Cotabato on Friday, September 30, Lacson said.

The LPP meeting was only attended by 11 governors, including Lacson, as the others whose areas were hit by Typhoon “Karding” begged off.

Lacson also said the governors support Congress’ push for the postponement of the barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan elections to October 2023.*
