The “Lasallians for Leni” was launched at the University of St. La Salle (USLS) in Bacolod City followed by the ceremonial tying of pink ribbons on lamp posts along La Salle Avenue on Thursday, February 24.
A statement of support of concerned USLS administrators, faculty and staff for Robredo was also issued.
“This expression of support is anchored on the belief and observation that of all the presidential candidates, only VP Leni Robredo embodies the ideals and aspiration that the Catholic social teachings and our Lasallian core values uphold,” the statement said.
They said they believe in an honest and competent leadership that will stir the nation to progress and development and Robredo exemplifies this.
“She has no record of corruption,” they said, pointing out that the Office of the Vice President under her, earned the highest audit, as having the “cleanest report” in the use of people’s money.
“We believe in a strong but compassionate governance that is inclusive and empowering with its primordial consideration to provide a decent and dignified life for all sectors of Philippine society, they said.
“We aspire for a leader who is a true public servant in thoughts, words and actions. A leader who is there in times of crises and calamities, in fighting hunger and poverty, and will not use her public office for personal gain or to advance the interest of her relatives,” they said.
Robredo is the epitome of a true servant leader, they added.*
