Lacson, Sue Ramirez attend World Café of Opportunities

“May you find the job that suits your talent and expertise”, Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson told jobseekers who joined the World Café of Opportunities (WCO) and Job Fair at Ayala Malls Capitol Central in Bacolod City on Friday, August 25.

Lacson and actress Sue Ramirez, representing Victoria’s Mayor Javier Miguel Benitez, Negros Association of Chief Executives president, joined the activity spearheaded by the provincial government in partnership with the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA).

The activity was also held to mark TESDA’s 29th anniversary celebration and in observance of the National Technical–Vocational (Tech-Voc) Day.

“This Trabaho Para sa Negrense or World Café of Opportunities is a good platform of TESDA to ensure that job opportunities and other employment support interventions will be offered to graduates and those entrants needing relevant information and services”, Lacson said.

The provincial government remains committed to supporting the technical education and skills development of the Negrense community, he said.

“Beyond the chance to engage with employers, job fairs also provide a valuable opportunity to gain insights into the job market, explore various career options, and better comprehend the skills, experience, and education that employers are seeking,” he said.

“To those who are going to work for the first time, please do not just give up easily when the going gets tough, give your job a chance, not all are privileged to have one,” Lacson said.

The WCO is a sector-based job fair, initiated by TESDA, which aims to connect government and private agencies to Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) graduates.

It also aims to ensure that job opportunities and other employment support interventions will be offered to graduates and those entrants needing relevant information and services.

TESDA Negros Occ. Provincial Director Niña Connie Dodd partnered with the Provincial Public Employment Service Office and the Department of Labor and Employment in the conduct of the activity.*
